2010 Sweet Valley Fireman's Fair
Memorial Weekend Fair and Parade The Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company at 5383 Main Road, Sweet Valley will hold their annual Memorial Weekend Fair on Thursday May 27 (5:30pm to 11:00pm); Friday May 28 (5:30pm to 11:00pm); Saturday May 29 (1:00pm to 11:00pm); and Monday May 31(10:00am to 10:00pm). There will be a parade on May 31, beginning at 1:30pm. The fair grounds are closed on Sunday May 30. There will be rides for all ages at the fair, with a special "wrist band" price on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon. Free entertainment from local bands will include "Hidden Drive" on Thursday night, and "Third Degree" on Friday night. "DJ Cruizer" will play selections Saturday afternoon followed by the band "Cool Ride" in the evening. "The Hess Family" will perform Monday morning, followed by the parade at 1:30, then a Fireman's Olympics. The band "Farmers Daughter" will perform Monday evening. Come enjoy great food at the fair like potato pancakes, perogies, funnel cakes, fresh cut french fries and other fried foods, pizza, barbeques, soup, hot sausage and cheese steak sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and much more. A huge "White Elephant" sale will be held in the fire hall every day of the fair. If you wish to donate items for the sale, please contact Jill Shaw at 477-3166. Vendors who wish to obtain information about leasing lots on the fair grounds are asked to contact David Pall at 256-7332. Marching units, floats, or anyone wishing to take part in the parade should contact our fair chairman, John Oley at 256-6064. Drivers operating any type of vehicle in the parade must have a valid driver's license. Pets are not allowed at the fair grounds. Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking.
